WHat is the unconference?
Not your average conference; this is THE UNCONFERENCE.
This is our opportunity to come together about injustices happening in our community, in our schools, and in our lives. We will co-create a space for everyone to brainstorm solutions and speak up against everything that’s pissing us off! The event will have performances, a design-thinking session, raffles, prizes, and snacks all designed to hear what you have to say about what's going on around you, and how WE can stop it. This is our big chance to TELL ‘EM WHY YOU MAD. Registration Required* |
CREators
Thalia Sanchez I was born and raised in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico and moved to Hartford, CT in 2012. I love listening to music from Lauryn Hill, J. Cole, and Ozuna. I also have a passion for reading. It is because of this that I want to make a better world. A world where the success of people of color is not undermined. |
Naima Morst I was born in America but raised in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica. I have come to love both the tranquility of the islands and the fast lifestyle of the states. I hope to one day live in a world with acceptance. However, I understand that this will take a lot of work. This is why I spend my time helping my community the best I can. |
Angel Cotto
I was born in Fort Myers, Florida and moved to Hartford as a toddler. I have always had a passion for empowering the youth and in high school decided to join Compass Peacebuilders as a Junior Peacebuilder and soon became one of the leads. I now work at Youth Action Hub studying youth homelessness. |
